Angry Fruit Bowl
Inspired by early analogue cinema, Angry Fruit Bowl, is a series of hand blown glass vessels each engraved with a set of images which form an animated loop much like a zoetrope, one of the earliest cinematic devises. Rather than using a shutter (or slit in the case of a zoetrope) the Angry Fruit Bowls are designed to sit on a record player and rely on a strobe light to create the persistence of vision necessary to see the images come to life.
Angry Fruit Bowl is a series of sculptures that bring together two distinctly analogue technologies to create a work that strikes a cord in the digital age.
The series was exhibited at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie Graduation Show 2016.
